Fixed Income and Liquidity Solutions, within Public Investing, manages more than $1.7 trillion in assets for a variety of clients, including private wealth mandates and institutional clients such as insurance companies, pension funds, and endowments. The team has a long history of investing across public fixed income strategies including rates, currency and credit on behalf of our clients. Investment ideas are created through collaboration between portfolio managers, research analysts, and traders. GSAM's Municipal Fixed Income team is looking for a junior Portfolio Manager/Trader at the associate level in New York. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Municipal Fixed Income team and assist in building relationships with dealers and counterparties, ensuring trade integrity, and providing analysis and feedback on portfolio construction. In addition to its trading responsibilities, the role will also include considerable interaction with operations and technology support.

Responsibilities

  • Allocate, execute, and reconcile trades
  • Maintain and rebalance portfolios across strategies
  • Work with technology and strat teams to increase automation, improve quality of data, and create new trading tools
  • Liaise with operations on a daily basis to resolve any trading issues
  • Update and maintain reports for weekly/bi-weekly strategy meetings

Requirements

  • 3-6 Years of Experience
  • Numerical and analytical with excellent attention to detail
  • Background with portfolio management systems / Bloomberg a plus
  • Keen interest in markets
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
