About the position

As a Product Manager for the Portfolio Servicing Platforms within the Asset & Wealth Management Strategic Transformation Office at Goldman Sachs, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the development, enhancement, and management of portfolio servicing platforms that are essential for the global Asset Management business. This position is integral to the firm's mission of providing clients with a dedicated partnership and a focus on long-term performance, as you will be responsible for ensuring that the portfolio servicing platform meets the critical functions necessary for operational efficiency and risk management. Your role will involve collaborating closely with leadership across various teams, including Investment, Sales & Distribution, Operations, and Technology, to enable tax-aware customized equity options strategies in separately managed accounts. You will be tasked with delivering a robust product strategy that not only addresses internal stakeholder needs but also enhances the client experience. This high-visibility position requires you to engage with multiple stakeholders to identify and solve complex problems throughout the client and investment journey, ultimately defining the roadmap for future integration with various distribution platforms. In this entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment, you will be expected to develop the product strategy and roadmap based on a thorough understanding of business drivers, competition, and stakeholder needs. You will own the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and beyond, ensuring that product development aligns with the strategic goals of the organization. Your ability to break down complex problems into manageable components will be crucial in driving product development and platform extensibility. Additionally, you will design and monitor business metrics related to product usage and client satisfaction, establishing a feedback loop that informs strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the product strategy and roadmap based on a deep understanding of business drivers, competition, and stakeholder needs.
  • Own the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and beyond, including management of product development, feature prioritization, release planning, and ongoing product maintenance.
  • Break down complex problems and processes into feature components that drive product development and platform extensibility.
  • Define, document, and prioritize product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to guide the development process and ensure clear communication between stakeholders.
  • Partner with a team of product managers to identify cross-product opportunities and to ensure all problems considered within the context of the target state product architecture.
  • Design and monitor business metrics related to product usage, adoption, and client satisfaction, and establish a feedback loop informing strategic and prioritization-related decisions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience (7+ years) in product management within the financial services industry, specifically within asset management or portfolio servicing platforms.
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in relevant fields is preferred.
  • Prior experience/understanding of retail SMAs, options trading and overlay strategies.
  • Prior experience/understanding of Investment Operations (ideally within the Asset Management business).
  • Experience with all stages of the development lifecycle: inception, analysis, design, review, testing, and deployment leveraging agile development methodologies and tools.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions and derive actionable insights from market and usage data.
  • Proficiency in collaborating with technical teams, understanding software architecture, and translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in working with cross-functional teams, managing complex projects, and delivering software solutions on schedule and within budget.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience working directly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Scrum Product Owner responsibilities prioritizing the product backlog, using domain expertise, customer insights and market research to make informed trade-offs between new feature development, platform investment and optimizations.
  • Be an advocate of best practices for system design and conformance to high standards for coding, testing, debugging and implementation.
