About the position

The Assistant Asset Manager (Temporary) position is a remote role that supports the Associate Real Estate Manager or higher staff in managing various aspects of commercial, industrial, or retail properties. This includes overseeing marketing, operations, and financial activities to ensure the properties are well-managed and meet the needs of tenants. The role requires a proactive approach to responding to tenant needs, ensuring that any issues are resolved promptly by the administrative and technical staff. The Assistant Asset Manager will also assist in conducting regular property inspections, recommending necessary alterations or maintenance, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. In addition to tenant relations, the Assistant Asset Manager is responsible for reviewing and approving vendor invoices, managing purchase orders, and preparing accurate tenant billings. The role involves coordinating tenant move-ins and move-outs, conducting walkthroughs with tenants, and preparing timely reports. The Assistant Asset Manager may also assist in producing research data related to budget line items and accounts receivable aging reports. This position does not have formal supervisory responsibilities but may provide informal guidance and training to coworkers. To succeed in this role, candidates must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent organizational and analytical abilities. A background in financial principles is essential, as the role requires the ability to perform basic financial analyses and calculations. The Assistant Asset Manager should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and be able to make decisions with a general understanding of company policies and procedures. Safety is a critical aspect of this role, and the Assistant Asset Manager is responsible for adhering to all health and safety training and protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Associate Real Estate Manager/Real Estate Manager in managing all aspects of a property or portfolio.
  • Respond to tenant needs and ensure prompt resolution of issues by administrative and technical staff.
  • Perform periodic property inspections and recommend necessary alterations or maintenance.
  • Review and recommend approvals for vendor invoices in compliance with management agreements.
  • Assign Purchase Orders according to company policies and authorization matrix.
  • Assist in preparing accurate tenant billings.
  • Coordinate tenant move-ins and move-outs, including walkthroughs with tenants.
  • Prepare and deliver timely, accurate reports.
  • Assist in producing research data on budget line items and entering budget data into reports.
  • Gather and confirm preliminary data for accounts receivable aging reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of one to two years of related experience and/or training.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
  • Knowledge of financial terms and principles, with the ability to calculate intermediate figures.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents and solve problems.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite.

Benefits

  • Minimum salary of $70,000 annually and a maximum salary of $80,000 annually.
  • Eligibility for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
