About the position

The Assistant Asset Manager (Temporary) position is a remote role that supports the Associate Real Estate Manager or higher staff in managing various aspects of commercial, industrial, or retail properties. This includes overseeing marketing, operations, and financial activities to ensure the properties are well-managed and meet the needs of tenants. The role requires a proactive approach to responding to tenant needs, ensuring that any issues are resolved promptly by the administrative and technical staff. The Assistant Asset Manager will also assist in conducting regular property inspections, recommending necessary alterations, maintenance, and reconditioning to maintain property standards. In addition to property management, the Assistant Asset Manager is responsible for reviewing and approving vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with management agreements and company policies. This role involves preparing accurate tenant billings and coordinating tenant move-ins and move-outs, including conducting walkthroughs with tenants. The Assistant Asset Manager will also assist in preparing reports and may be involved in gathering data for budget reports and accounts receivable aging reports. Overall, this position plays a crucial role in supporting the management of properties and ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. The Assistant Asset Manager will not have formal supervisory responsibilities but may provide informal assistance and guidance to coworkers. The role requires strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as excellent organizational and analytical abilities. A background in financial principles is also necessary, as the position involves basic financial analysis and calculations. The ideal candidate will have intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and be able to make decisions with a general understanding of company procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Associate Real Estate Manager/Real Estate Manager in managing all aspects of a property or portfolio of properties.
  • Responds to tenant needs and ensures problems are resolved promptly by administrative and technical staff.
  • Assists in performing periodic property inspections and recommends necessary alterations and maintenance.
  • Reviews and recommends approvals for vendor invoices in compliance with management agreements and company policies.
  • Responsible for the assignment of Purchase Orders per company policies.
  • Assists with the preparation of accurate tenant billings.
  • Coordinates tenant move-ins and move-outs, including walkthroughs with tenants.
  • Prepares and delivers timely, accurate, and complete reports.
  • May assist in producing research data on budget line items or entering budget data into reports.
  • Gathers and confirms preliminary data for accounts receivable aging reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of one to two years of related experience and/or training.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
  • Knowledge of financial terms and principles, with the ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages and discounts.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents and solve problems involving several options.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite.

Benefits

  • Minimum salary of $70,000 annually and a maximum salary of $80,000 annually.
  • Eligibility for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
