About the position

The Assistant Asset Manager (Temporary) position at CBRE is a remote role that supports the Associate Real Estate Manager or higher staff in managing various aspects of commercial, industrial, or retail properties. This includes overseeing marketing, operations, and financial activities related to a single property or a portfolio. The role is essential in ensuring that tenant needs are met promptly and that all services comply with established policies, procedures, regulations, and contractual obligations. In this position, the Assistant Asset Manager will assist in conducting regular property inspections, recommending necessary alterations, maintenance, and reconditioning. They will also review and approve vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with management agreements and company policies. The role involves preparing accurate tenant billings, coordinating tenant move-ins and move-outs, and assisting in the preparation of timely reports. Additionally, the Assistant Asset Manager may gather data for accounts receivable aging reports and perform other duties as assigned. This role does not have formal supervisory responsibilities but may provide informal assistance and guidance to coworkers. The Assistant Asset Manager is expected to make decisions with a general understanding of procedures and company policies, with the potential for short-term impacts on coworkers and supervisors. Safety is a critical aspect of this role, requiring adherence to health and safety training and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Associate Real Estate Manager/Real Estate Manager in managing property operations.
  • Respond to tenant needs and ensure prompt resolution of issues by administrative and technical staff.
  • Perform periodic property inspections and recommend necessary maintenance or alterations.
  • Review and approve vendor invoices in compliance with management agreements and company policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate tenant billings.
  • Coordinate tenant move-ins and move-outs, including walkthroughs with tenants.
  • Prepare and deliver timely and accurate reports.
  • Gather and confirm preliminary data for accounts receivable aging reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university.
  • 1-2 years of related experience and/or training in property management or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient and courteous service to customers.
  • Knowledge of financial terms and principles, with the ability to conduct basic financial analysis.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
