About the position

The Assistant Asset Manager (Temporary) position is a remote role that supports the Associate Real Estate Manager or higher staff in managing various aspects of commercial, industrial, or retail properties. This includes overseeing marketing, operations, and financial activities to ensure the properties are well-managed and meet the needs of tenants. The role requires a proactive approach to responding to tenant needs, ensuring that any issues are resolved promptly by the administrative and technical staff. The Assistant Asset Manager will also assist in conducting regular property inspections, recommending necessary alterations, maintenance, and reconditioning to maintain property standards. In addition to property management duties, the Assistant Asset Manager is responsible for reviewing and approving vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with management agreements and company policies. This role involves preparing accurate tenant billings and coordinating tenant move-ins and move-outs, including conducting walkthroughs with tenants. The Assistant Asset Manager will also assist in preparing reports and may be involved in gathering data for budget reports and accounts receivable aging reports. Overall, this position plays a crucial role in supporting the management of properties and ensuring tenant satisfaction while adhering to company policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Associate Real Estate Manager/Real Estate Manager in managing all aspects of a property or portfolio.
  • Responds to tenant needs and ensures prompt resolution of issues by administrative and technical staff.
  • Performs periodic property inspections and recommends necessary alterations and maintenance.
  • Reviews and recommends approvals for vendor invoices in compliance with management agreements.
  • Responsible for the assignment of Purchase Orders per company policies.
  • Assists in preparing accurate tenant billings.
  • Coordinates tenant move-ins and move-outs, including walkthroughs with tenants.
  • Prepares and delivers timely and accurate reports.
  • May assist in producing research data on budget line items or entering budget data into reports.
  • Gathers and confirms preliminary data for accounts receivable aging reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of one to two years of related experience and/or training.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
  • Knowledge of financial terms and principles, with the ability to conduct basic financial analysis.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in property management or real estate management is preferred.
  • Familiarity with commercial, industrial, or retail property management.

Benefits

  • Minimum salary of $70,000 annually and a maximum salary of $80,000 annually.
  • Eligibility for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
