About the position

The Assistant Asset Manager (Temporary) position is a remote role that supports the Associate Real Estate Manager or higher staff in managing various aspects of commercial, industrial, or retail properties. This includes overseeing marketing, operations, and financial activities to ensure the properties are well-managed and meet the needs of tenants. The role requires a proactive approach to responding to tenant needs, ensuring that any issues are resolved promptly by the administrative and technical staff. The Assistant Asset Manager will also assist in conducting regular property inspections, recommending necessary alterations, maintenance, and reconditioning to maintain property standards. In addition to property management, the Assistant Asset Manager is responsible for reviewing and approving vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with management agreements and company policies. This role involves preparing accurate tenant billings and coordinating tenant move-ins and move-outs, including conducting walkthroughs with tenants and the tenant improvement department. The Assistant Asset Manager will also assist in generating timely reports and may be involved in producing research data related to budget line items. The position does not have formal supervisory responsibilities but may provide informal assistance and guidance to coworkers. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and have a solid understanding of financial principles to perform basic financial analyses. The role requires intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Associate Real Estate Manager/Real Estate Manager in managing all aspects of a property or portfolio.
  • Respond to tenant needs and ensure prompt resolution of issues by administrative and technical staff.
  • Perform periodic property inspections and recommend necessary alterations and maintenance.
  • Review and recommend approvals for vendor invoices in compliance with management agreements.
  • Assign Purchase Orders according to company policies and approval matrix.
  • Assist in preparing accurate tenant billings.
  • Coordinate tenant move-ins and move-outs, including walkthroughs with tenants.
  • Prepare and deliver timely and accurate reports.
  • Gather and confirm preliminary data for accounts receivable aging reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of one to two years of related experience and/or training.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
  • Knowledge of financial terms and principles, with the ability to conduct basic financial analysis.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
