About the position

The Assistant Asset Manager (Temporary) position is a remote role that supports the Associate Real Estate Manager or higher staff in managing various aspects of commercial, industrial, or retail properties. This includes overseeing marketing, operations, and financial activities to ensure the properties are well-managed and meet the needs of tenants. The role requires a proactive approach to addressing tenant needs, ensuring that any issues are resolved promptly by the administrative and technical staff. The Assistant Asset Manager will also assist in conducting regular property inspections, recommending necessary alterations, maintenance, and reconditioning to maintain property standards. In addition to property management duties, the Assistant Asset Manager is responsible for reviewing and approving vendor invoices in compliance with management agreements and company policies. This includes the assignment of Purchase Orders and assisting in the preparation of accurate tenant billings. The role also involves coordinating tenant move-ins and move-outs, conducting walkthroughs with tenants, and preparing timely reports. The Assistant Asset Manager may also assist in producing research data related to budget line items and accounts receivable aging reports, contributing to the overall financial management of the properties. This position does not have formal supervisory responsibilities but may provide informal assistance and guidance to coworkers. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a solid understanding of financial principles, enabling them to perform the essential duties of the role effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Associate Real Estate Manager/Real Estate Manager in managing all aspects of a property or portfolio.
  • Responds to tenant needs and ensures problems are resolved promptly by staff.
  • Assists in performing periodic property inspections and recommends necessary alterations or maintenance.
  • Reviews and recommends approvals for vendor invoices in compliance with management agreements.
  • Responsible for the assignment of Purchase Orders per company policies.
  • Assists in preparing accurate tenant billings and coordinating tenant move-ins and move-outs.
  • Prepares and delivers timely, accurate reports and may assist in budget data entry.
  • Gathers and confirms preliminary data for accounts receivable aging reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of one to two years of related experience and/or training.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
  • Knowledge of financial terms and principles, with the ability to conduct basic financial analysis.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
