About the position
The University of Rochester's Goergen Institute for Data Science (GIDS) is seeking an outstanding candidate for an Instructional Faculty position in Data Science, open to all ranks (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). This role focuses on developing and teaching courses for a new online MS degree in Healthcare Data Science and AI, aimed at professionals in the healthcare sector. The candidate will have the opportunity to innovate the curriculum and collaborate with researchers and clinicians, contributing to the growth of the program and its outreach.
Responsibilities
- Develop and teach entry and advanced level courses for master's level students in Healthcare Data Science.
- Participate in department education initiatives such as student advising and building relationships with external partners for capstone projects.
- Manage the day-to-day administration of the MS program, including admission/enrollment management and marketing.
- Contribute to broad institute initiatives including new professional graduate programs and certificate programs.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in a related field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Statistics.
- Strong background in Data Science and experience in graduate teaching and curricular issues.

- Experience applying data science and AI techniques to healthcare problems through academic research or industry experience.
