About the position

The Assistant Branch Manager plays a crucial role in the planning and organization of daily operational activities at the branch. This position focuses on maintaining high-quality service and operational efficiency, overseeing retail and operational functions, and engaging in business development activities. The role includes responsibilities such as managing staff, servicing accounts, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and organizing daily operational activities at the branch.
• Service accounts and handle cashiering duties as needed.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of bank products, programs, and services to train staff.
• Act as a paying/receiving teller and Personal Banker when required.
• Recommend products to customers and enhance customer relationships.
• Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching to direct reports.
• Provide or arrange training in operations and bank policies.
• Represent the bank in business development efforts and community functions.
• Ensure compliance with security controls to protect against fraud.
• Schedule personnel effectively to ensure adequate customer service coverage.
• Review and approve transactions requiring overrides.
• Prepare and review loan documents.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of banking experience.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding lending.
• Familiarity with commercial banking products and services.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Strong confidentiality, decision-making, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate degree or advanced degree preferred.
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
• Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Management role is strongly preferred.
