About the position

The Assistant Business Office Manager at Pleasant Valley Healthcare plays a crucial role in supporting the Business Office Manager with billing and accounting functions in a skilled nursing facility. This position involves managing the Medicaid application process, overseeing collections, and ensuring effective communication with clients and healthcare professionals. The role is essential for maintaining financial operations and providing excellent customer service in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Business Office Manager with overall billing and accounting functions.
  • Manage the Medicaid application process for initial applications and renewals.
  • Manage collections of payments from private pay individuals and follow up on past due payments.
  • Attend daily standup meetings, weekly Medicaid meetings, and weekly A/R aging review meetings.
  • Assist with month-end accounting close at the direction of the Business Office Manager.
  • Coordinate Medicaid and private pay activities with regional resources as needed.
  • Assist with incoming inquiries from prospective clients, loved ones, and medical professionals.

Requirements

  • Experience in the billing role of a nursing home, especially with Medicaid.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college with specialization in business or accounting preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior leadership/supervisor experience strongly preferred.
  • Two (2) years of customer service experience.
  • Healthcare and Long-Term Care experience preferred.
