The Assistant CFO (ACFO) plays a crucial role within the Executive Leadership Team at Frye Regional Medical Center, supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in safeguarding the hospital's assets and ensuring that financial statements, including books and records, are prepared and maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position is integral to the financial health of the organization, overseeing the operations of the Accounting/Finance Department. The ACFO is responsible for the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, maintenance of the general ledger, internal audits, and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls. Additionally, the ACFO manages accounts payable, balance sheet reconciliations, and budget preparation, ensuring that all financial operations align with regulatory standards and internal policies. In this role, the ACFO implements and adheres to regulatory changes that impact the accounting cycle, providing timely and effective service to both internal and external customers. The position requires a strong focus on compliance with company financial and accounting policies, ensuring that internal controls are effective in both design and operation. The ACFO is tasked with meeting monthly close deadlines, maintaining supporting documentation for all activities, performing account analysis, and preparing various financial packages as requested, such as cost reports and tax documents. Furthermore, the ACFO assists in identifying and assessing financial risks, establishing and monitoring mitigation plans, and communicating financial risks and opportunities to the regional CFO and hospital CEO. The ACFO also plays a key role in monitoring financial performance and maintaining reasonable and appropriate financial plans and forecasts. This position is essential for ensuring the financial integrity of Frye Regional Medical Center and supporting its mission to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the community.
