About the position

The Assistant CFO (ACFO) plays a crucial role in supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Frye Regional Medical Center. This position is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Accounting/Finance Department, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and safeguarding the hospital's financial assets. The ACFO will manage financial statement preparation, internal audits, and budget preparations while also assisting in financial risk assessment and performance monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operations of the Accounting/Finance Department including financial statement preparation and maintenance of the general ledger.
• Implement and adhere to regulatory, GAAP, and other changes affecting the accounting cycle.
• Ensure compliance with company financial and accounting policies and procedures, and monitor internal controls.
• Ensure timely completion of monthly close deadlines and maintain supporting documentation for all activities.
• Assist in identifying and assessing financial risks and communicate these to the regional CFO and hospital CEO.
• Monitor financial performance and maintain appropriate financial plans and forecasts.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Preferred CPA designation or an advanced degree.
• At least 5 years of progressive financial healthcare experience or equivalent in general accounting, financial systems, and financial statement preparation.
