About the position

The Assistant Compensation and Benefits Manager will support the design, implementation, administration, and evaluation of Health & Welfare and Retirement Benefit Programs. This role involves managing processes for effective benefits administration, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and preparing necessary reports. The position also includes supervising the HR Benefits team and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance employee compensation programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the overall plan design, implementation, administration, and evaluation of Health & Welfare and Retirement Benefit Programs.
  • Manage the processes for administering the company Benefits Program within policy guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements of various Benefit Programs and prepare required legal reports.
  • Support the development and administration of employee compensation programs.
  • Supervise the HR Benefits team and manage the Benefits administration system and HR Information Systems.
  • Oversee the Health & Welfare Benefits Annual Open Enrollment process and create communications for employees.
  • Audit employee hours to determine benefit eligibility and communicate results to HR Business Partners.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors, consultants, and brokers regarding benefit plans.
  • Prepare and file federal and state required forms related to benefits, ensuring accuracy.
  • Provide guidance and support to plan participants regarding benefit issues.

Requirements

  • Experience in benefits administration and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Strong data analysis and validation skills.
  • Ability to resolve complex issues with providers, insurers, and employees.
  • Experience with Benefits administration systems and HR Information Systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of self-funded and insured plans and plan design.
  • Experience in preparing compensation reports and analyzing pay scales.
