About the position

The position is responsible for administering programs related to the University-wide development program focused on securing funding from foundations and corporations. This role involves conducting prospect research, maintaining relationships with donors, and collaborating with faculty and staff to align funding opportunities with the University's strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Meet prospect research needs for the Foundation and Corporate Relations (FCR) team by providing timely information on foundations and corporations.
  • Maintain an understanding of the foundation and corporate giving landscape by researching priorities, program areas, and trends.
  • Present weekly updates on foundation/corporate news to the FCR team.
  • Identify relevant open Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and compile them for dissemination to faculty and staff.
  • Respond to prospect list requests and research inquiries from faculty and programs.
  • Produce in-depth research profiles on foundations and corporations for solicitation strategies.
  • Launch and manage projects to identify opportunities for engagement with foundation funders.
  • Advise the FCR team on strategies to secure funding and grow corporate relations activity.
  • Maintain accurate information on organizational prospects and donors in the development system database.
  • Utilize prospect development tools and resources to meet industry standards.
  • Seek professional development opportunities to enhance job performance.
  • Monitor and develop strategies for assigned foundations or corporations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
  • Demonstrated skill in research techniques and database management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience in nonprofit management, development, or alumni relations.
  • Familiarity with development systems and data cleanup.
