About the position

The Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications at the University of South Alabama's Mitchell College of Business (MCOB) is responsible for acting as the primary liaison between the college and the central Office of Marketing and Communications. This role involves planning and executing marketing strategies to enhance the visibility of the college, support recruitment efforts, and maintain effective communication across various platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between MCOB and the central Office of Marketing and Communications.
  • Plan and execute marketing strategies and campaigns for undergraduate and graduate recruitment.
  • Enhance the visibility of the college through effective marketing and promotion of public events.
  • Manage the design, content creation, and publication of college newsletters and mailings.
  • Manage vendor relations, including coordination of photography.
  • Amplify and position alumni success stories.
  • Plan, write, edit, and produce various marketing communications materials.
  • Design and coordinate printing and distribution of college invitations and communications.
  • Plan and execute effective advertising strategies that support the college's goals.
  • Build and enhance the MCOB websites and social media presence.
  • Assist with scripting and development of video content.
  • Manage student workers and graduate assistants in the college and/or marketing team.
  • Consult with college departments to enhance marketing efforts and maintain brand standards.
  • Assist and coordinate MCOB event planning and marketing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing or related field.
  • Five years of experience in marketing, journalism, communications or public relations.
  • Exceptional written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and produce compelling communications campaigns across multiple platforms.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with target audiences.
