About the position

The Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the University of Redlands plays a crucial role in securing and sustaining external funding from corporate sources and philanthropic foundations. This position involves collaboration with the Senior Director of Sponsored Program Development to operationalize strategic relationships and enhance the university's funding opportunities. The role requires flexibility in working hours and travel as needed, primarily based at the main campus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the Development team focused on securing philanthropic support from corporate partners and foundations.
  • Assist the Senior Director of Sponsored Program Development with operationalizing strategic relationships with corporate grant-makers and foundations.
  • Gather and communicate information about funding opportunities to the campus community.
  • Participate in preparing letters of inquiry, proposals, stewardship reports, and other communications for corporate and foundation partners.
  • Assist with logistical planning for site visits and stewardship events for grant-maker representatives.
  • Coordinate stewardship of corporate and foundation donors in partnership with the Office of Donor Relations and Communications.
  • Draft acknowledgments of grant support on behalf of the University through various forms of correspondence.
  • Stay current on trends and best practices in corporate and foundation giving.
  • Attend University functions and other special events in the community.
  • Participate in other duties, special projects, and development initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 1-3 years of fundraising experience or related experience in business, communications, or higher education.
  • Experience writing grants strongly preferred.
  • Valid California Class C driver's license with a good driving record.
