About the position

The Assistant Director of Finance at M Social Hotel is responsible for supervising and coordinating the accounting operations to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with policies, GAAP, and relevant laws. This role supports the Controller in managing the hotel's financial health, overseeing payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and internal controls, while also recommending operational changes as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cashier, and Night Audit employees.
• Interview, recommend hiring, train, develop, empower, schedule, coach, and counsel staff.
• Conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, and recommend discipline and termination as appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, LSOPs, GAAP, and all federal, state, and local laws and regulations in daily accounting operations.
• Analyze and reconcile all general ledger accounts and bank statements.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for management.
• Assist in the compilation and preparation of the annual budget, forecasts, and taxes.
• Train and monitor the implementation of financial and cash controls across departments.
• Resolve problems and maintain accounting systems and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with hotel leases and management contracts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 2-4 years of hotel accounting experience.
• Knowledge of functions performed by subordinate staff.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting, finance, and hospitality professions.
• Experiential knowledge for management of people and complex problems.
• Ability to analyze activities or information for logical conclusions.
• Ability to make decisions guided by established policies and procedures.
• Strong communication skills for providing information and services.
