About The Position

The Assistant Director of Programs at Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) is responsible for overseeing the delivery of federally, state, grant, and utility funded energy efficiency programs in both single and multifamily housing. This role involves ensuring compliance with program requirements, supervising program managers and their teams, managing program budgets, and driving process improvements to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs). The Assistant Director will collaborate with various departments to enhance program delivery and engage with external stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of energy efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in administration, social sciences, or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of work experience in program management, operations, or a similar role.
  • Direct experience in decarbonization, energy efficiency, and building science is required.
  • Previous supervisory and leadership experience is required.
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in conducting energy and the Department of Energy (DOE) Weatherization Program is highly preferred.
  • Certification and membership to the Building Performance Institute (BPI) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the Statewide Single Family and Multifamily programs, including delivery by all vendors and sub-grantees.
  • Identify, prioritize & escalate gaps or risks impacting program delivery and coordinate cross-functional solutions.
  • Supervise and direct program staff implementing single and multifamily work from referral and assessment to final reporting.
  • Oversee program reporting, ensuring compliance with funding source guidelines and maintaining proper documentation.
  • Provide regular health status reporting of programs to leadership, including quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Participate in responses to Requests for Proposals for future funding opportunities.
  • Develop and deploy strategies with LEAN sub-grantees to ensure successful network performance.
  • Ensure successful implementation of new initiatives and requirements through the statewide network.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and attend relevant meetings, trainings, and conferences related to energy efficiency programs.
  • Engage with utility funding sources and external stakeholders on program delivery and compliance reviews.
