About the position

The Assistant Facility Manager for Valet Operations at SP+ plays a crucial role in the day-to-day management of valet services, ensuring that guests receive exceptional service and that client relations are maintained at a high standard. This position is integral to fostering a professional and courteous image of the valet operation, which is essential for enhancing the overall guest experience. The Assistant Facility Manager will be responsible for creating and implementing effective staging plans that utilize the location's layout to maximize parking capacity. This involves a thorough understanding of the valet operation, including knowledge of major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the area, to ensure efficient service delivery. In addition to managing the valet team, the Assistant Facility Manager will participate in programs aimed at improving client and guest satisfaction. This includes ensuring that guests are assisted promptly and courteously, whether it be answering questions, helping them in and out of their vehicles, or safely driving and parking their cars. The role also requires maintaining compliance with standard operating procedures, ensuring the safety and security of vehicles and keys, and preparing daily paperwork in accordance with audit compliance standards. The Assistant Facility Manager will also be involved in staffing, including creating schedules based on anticipated vehicle volume, hiring, training, and coaching valet team members. The position may require substituting for any role within the valet operation as needed, and the individual will be expected to report any accidents, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager. Overall, this role is vital for maintaining the operational excellence of valet services at SP+ and ensuring that every moment matters for guests and clients alike.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in programs to improve client and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure guests are receiving timely and exceptional service by assisting them courteously.
  • Drive, park, and retrieve guest vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all areas of the valet operation, major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the area.
  • Create a staffing schedule according to anticipated daily vehicle volume.
  • Maintain compliance with standard operating procedures, ensuring safety and security of vehicles and keys.
  • Prepare and process daily paperwork according to audit compliance standards.
  • Quickly distinguish vehicle makes and models; have a general knowledge of vehicle operations.
  • Ensure that drive lanes and crosswalks are clean of debris, water, oil spills, etc.
  • Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of company policy, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager.
  • Review damage claims.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and coaching an excellent valet team.
  • Substitute for any position, if necessary.
  • Complete other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate.
  • A minimum of six months of valet experience preferred.
  • Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license with current address and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work special shifts, including 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or weekends as required.
  • Strong oral communication skills; speaks clearly and listens effectively.
  • Written communication skills; able to write clearly and interpret written information.
  • Strong guest orientation and positive attitude; able to respond to requests for service in a courteous manner.
  • Adaptability to changes in the work environment; able to deal with unexpected events.
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment.
