About the position

The Assistant Facility Manager plays a crucial role in the day-to-day management of parking operations at the assigned location, ensuring that all activities are conducted within the contractual guidelines specific to that site. This position is integral to fostering strong client relations and promoting a professional image of the business. The Assistant Facility Manager will engage in various programs aimed at improving client and customer satisfaction, while also participating in the development of financial and operational goals for the property. In this role, the Assistant Facility Manager will oversee the daily activities of the location, which includes supervising frontline staff such as cashiers, valet attendants, and maintenance porters. Responsibilities also encompass ensuring appropriate customer interactions, processing bank deposits, preparing month-end reports, auditing daily cashier shift reports, and monitoring time cards. The Assistant Facility Manager will be involved in hiring and training new staff, reviewing damage claims, disbursing petty cash, and preparing the annual budget. Additionally, the Assistant Facility Manager will assist in the maintenance and repair of parking equipment and perform general maintenance tasks as directed by the Facility Manager. This role requires a thorough knowledge of the garage areas, major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the vicinity. The Assistant Facility Manager will also be responsible for reporting any accidents, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager and assisting with cleanup tasks as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in programs to improve client and customer satisfaction.
  • Engage in the development of property level financial and operational goals.
  • Assist in the management of day-to-day activities of the assigned locations.
  • Ensure appropriate customer interaction and supervise the completion of all evening closing reports.
  • Process bank deposits and schedule staff.
  • Supervise frontline staff including cashiers, valet attendants, and maintenance porters.
  • Prepare month-end reports and audit daily cashier shift reports.
  • Monitor and check time cards, hire and train frontline staff.
  • Review damage claims and disburse petty cash.
  • Prepare the annual budget and assist with other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate.
  • A minimum of six months of parking experience preferred.
  • Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license with current address and acceptable driving record.
  • Strong oral communication skills; able to listen and respond well to questions.
  • Clear and informative written communication skills; able to read and interpret written information.
  • Strong customer orientation and positive attitude; able to respond to requests for service in a courteous manner.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and deal with unexpected events.
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment.
