About the position

The Assistant in Training (AIT) position at Buckle is designed for individuals looking to advance their retail careers by working closely with the Store Manager and Leadership Team. This role involves developing sales strategies, recruiting and training new teammates, and providing leadership in the store. The AIT will also take on responsibilities of the Store Manager in their absence, ensuring a high level of customer service and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with a friendly attitude and provide legendary service.
  • Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
  • Recommend and help locate merchandise based on guest needs.
  • Anticipate guest needs and suggest additional items.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge and share it with the team.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, and policies.
  • Achieve personal sales goals set by management.
  • Provide service in key areas: sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area.
  • Fill out and use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily.
  • Meet performance standards in business builders and guest loyalty programs.
  • Build good guest relationships to develop a client-based business.
  • Lead by example with excellent customer service and attentiveness.
  • Coach and develop new teammates to meet sales standards.
  • Participate in daily setup and training activities.
  • Motivate teammates to complete daily tasks set by management.
  • Execute actions from department calendars and track on the Weekly Delegation Worksheet.
  • Ensure visual standards are followed and maintained in the store.
  • Handle security risks and thefts according to guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related retail experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods.
  • Physical ability to lift and maneuver 30lbs throughout the store.
