About the position

The Assistant Manager, Events at Universal Studios Hollywood plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful planning and execution of entertainment events. The Assistant Manager is responsible for maintaining high standards of guest service, employee engagement, and operational efficiency while supporting various entertainment projects.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the planning and execution of entertainment events, ensuring project milestones are met.
  • Maintain budgets and provide necessary support for partners, clients, and park operations.
  • Assist in creating and managing an Action Plan to improve employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Track and manage non-labor/labor budgets, reporting variance explanations as needed.
  • Provide direction and support to seasonal staff, performers, and employees.
  • Ensure compliance training and requirements are developed and completed on time.
  • Establish effective relationships with other park department leaders and stakeholders.
  • Maintain the annual calendar for all projects and support team meetings to review project progress.
  • Assist in the development and execution of onboarding and training for seasonal supervisors.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure seamless project transitions and maintain up-to-date SOPs.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety rules and operating instructions.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting information and answering questions.
  • Experience in managing others, including performance assessment and coaching.
  • Ability to develop and execute project plans, monitoring status and providing updates.
  • Commitment to organizational initiatives and encouraging team contributions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in event planning and management within a theme park or entertainment setting.
  • Knowledge of union contracts and scheduling parameters.
