About The Position

The Assistant Machine Operator will assist in the operation and maintenance of corrugated manufacturing press machines, ensuring efficient production and adherence to safety and quality standards. This role involves monitoring machine operations, performing setups, and supporting the team in various tasks while maintaining a safe working environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; Trade School and/or advanced degree preferred.
• Two years or more experience in a manufacturing setting preferred, with corrugated manufacturing being a plus.
• Ability to problem solve with minimal assistance.
• Effective communication skills with employees, supervisors, and managers.
• Basic computer skills including data entry and basic arithmetic.
• Ability to learn and understand machine line up and operations of corrugated manufacturing.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Dependable and reliable with the ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to stand throughout the entire shift and perform moderate to heavy lifting.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in corrugated manufacturing is a plus.
• Advanced problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the operator in making ready, maintaining, and operating corrugated manufacturing press machines.
• Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and determine necessary adjustments.
• Feed, catch, and stack corrugated sheets at machine feed and stacking stations.
• Oversee and perform order setups including setting heads, mounting print plates and dies, and maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Ensure all orders are completed to specifications, including any special instructions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by managers or supervisors, including parts and hand assembly.
• Act as a safety champion for the crew.
