About the position

The Assistant Professor and Program Director for the Computer Science (Master of Science) Program is a full-time faculty appointment with a 12-month teaching contract. This position aims to enhance program strength, course offerings, academic advising, and student opportunities. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to design and assess curriculum plans that foster rigorous student learning and engagement, particularly for adult hybrid learners. The role involves teaching a full load of graduate computer science courses each semester, with classes taught in a hybrid format requiring in-person attendance on the main campus in Lebanon, TN for one weekend during the 8-week term.

Responsibilities

  • Design and assess curriculum plans that foster rigorous student learning and engagement.
  • Enhance necessary skills required in adult hybrid learners, such as writing and communication.
  • Teach a full load of graduate computer science courses each semester.
  • Engage in class and student assessment while maintaining necessary paperwork and records based on Program Director requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues both internally and externally to advance the program year-over-year.
  • Supervise field experiences and demonstrate interpersonal/intrapersonal skills with non-traditional and online university students.
  • Contribute positively to a dynamic setting with collaborative faculty.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
  • Strong research and work experience profile in information technology or management with a track record of publications.
  • Documentation of successful experience as a graduate or undergraduate professor for computer science related courses.
  • Evidence of successful career in a related field.
