About the position
The School of Education at Syracuse University is seeking two full-time tenure track assistant professors specializing in Inclusive Education and Literacy Education. The role focuses on preparing future educators and researchers to impact students and communities through equity-focused practices. Candidates will engage in teaching, research, and collaboration within a dynamic faculty environment, contributing to the school's mission of promoting inclusive and antiracist pedagogy, digital learning, and experiential learning.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in inclusive pedagogy and/or inclusive literacy methods.
- Conduct research and pursue external research funding.
- Participate in school, university, and professional service.
Requirements
- Earned Doctorate in Inclusive/Special Education, Literacy Education, or a related field.
- Experience working with historically marginalized communities is desired.
- Strong record of scholarly work focused on inclusive, antiracist, and/or culturally sustaining literacy practices.
- Record of, or potential for, external research funding.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience or interest in interdisciplinary teaching and research related to neurodiversity and inclusive approaches to supporting literacy instruction.
