Assistant Program Director

About the position

The Assistant Program Director is responsible for the supervision of counseling staff, while facilitating all program activities. Supervises and participates in primary counselor duties to clients and their families including screening and intake, client and family orientation, development of treatment plan; crisis intervention; and group individual sessions. In the absence of the Program Director may assume leadership duties.

Responsibilities

• Supervise counseling staff and facilitate program activities.
• Participate in primary counselor duties including screening and intake.
• Conduct client and family orientation.
• Develop treatment plans for clients.
• Provide crisis intervention.
• Lead group and individual counseling sessions.
• Assume leadership duties in the absence of the Program Director.

Requirements

• Licensed by the State of Connecticut (LPC, LMFT, or LCSW).
• Three years of professional counseling experience or a combination of a degree in a related field and professional experience.
• Must be bilingual (English-Spanish).
• Two years minimum supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of the dynamics of chemical dependency rehabilitation and resources available to the chemically dependent.
• Appreciation of culturally relevant treatment and commitment to such services.
• Growth-oriented with willingness to set and work toward professional goals.
• Willingness to develop continuing skills towards multicultural competency within a behavioral health setting.
• Must have a driver's license and motor vehicle.
