The Assistant Property Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Property Manager in the management of residential real estate properties. This position involves a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of property management activities. The Assistant Property Manager is responsible for answering phones, administering leases, and discussing rental properties with both owners and tenants. Building strong relationships with these stakeholders is essential, as is the ability to think creatively to solve problems as they arise. Effective communication with tenants and owners is a key component of this role, as is the processing of maintenance requests and the preparation of necessary documents as directed by the Property Manager. In addition to these responsibilities, the Assistant Property Manager will maintain an accurate database, handle filing, process applications, and manage daily correspondence. Scheduling appointments and conducting property drive-bys to confirm compliance are also part of the job. The Assistant Property Manager will maintain key control and complete any other tasks assigned by the Property Manager. This role may involve supervisory responsibilities, acting as the lead person for specific tasks delegated by the Property Manager. The ideal candidate for this position will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to adapt quickly to various situations. A minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute is required, along with a basic understanding of leases, tenant-landlord law, and Fair Housing regulations.
