About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager at Ross Stores, Inc. is responsible for managing and supervising various store operations in the absence of the Store Manager. This role involves ensuring compliance with company standards, leading a team of associates, and maintaining a high level of customer service. The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in operational efficiency, expense control, and fostering a safe and secure environment for both customers and employees.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of Store or Assistant Store Manager experience in a retail environment.
  • Ability to supervise, motivate and communicate positively to Store Associates.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Maintain high quality of Customer service.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in loss prevention training and awareness.
  • Knowledge of retail merchandising standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all Company Best Practices and maximize productivity.
  • Assist in the analysis of Store reports to evaluate controllable expenses and overall Store performance.
  • Communicate any variances to Company standards to the Store Manager.
  • Ensure proper scheduling of Associates to meet business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all State, Local and Federal regulations.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, training and developing non-exempt Associates.
  • Manage payroll administration including daily punch edits and payroll reporting.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment by ensuring all Associates understand emergency procedures.
  • Supervise and coach Retail Associates in providing efficient and friendly service.
  • Ensure merchandise is presented and organized according to Company merchandising guidelines.
