About the position

The Associate Human Resources role at Fanatics Inc. is a pivotal position within the Commerce People organization, designed to provide both initial and escalated support for a variety of HR-related issues. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including new hire onboarding, I-9 compliance, terminations, exit interviews, and the administration of the Ethics Hotline. The Associate will also engage in performance conversations, conduct investigations, and address other routine and complex HR inquiries. Effective communication with employees at all levels is essential, as the Associate will be responsible for initiating and monitoring the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring compliance with applicable HR laws, and maintaining a thorough understanding of organizational policies and procedures. In addition to these responsibilities, the Associate will play a key role in maintaining data accuracy and integrity within HR systems. This includes troubleshooting and resolving HR issues, communicating company policies to employees and managers, and administering an open-door policy to address employee concerns. The role requires continuous training and learning of HR systems to effectively liaise between Commerce and the FHI shared services team, ensuring that system-related capabilities are well understood and utilized. The Associate will also be expected to pursue process and system efficiencies while maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all dealings. The position requires flexibility in work hours to accommodate business needs, especially during high-volume periods. Building solid working relationships internally and serving as a team trainer and subject matter expert (SME) for first-line team members are also critical components of this role. The Associate will work under moderate supervision, exercising independent judgment to navigate the complexities of HR operations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an initial and escalated resource support to the Commerce People organization.
  • Handle new hire onboarding, I-9 compliance, terminations, exit interviews, and Ethics Hotline administration.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Initiate and monitor new employee onboarding processes.
  • Ensure HR compliance with applicable laws, including I-9 compliance of new hires.
  • Maintain knowledge of organizational and departmental policies and procedures; assist in the design and implementation of HR policy.
  • Ensure data accuracy and maintain high levels of data integrity in HR systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic to complex HR issues, ensuring timely responses and follow-ups.
  • Administer an open-door policy by listening to employee concerns and determining appropriate actions.
  • Train and educate employees and managers on HR self-service options and capabilities.
  • Work with HR leaders to streamline processes and improve work habits.
  • Continuously pursue process and system efficiencies while maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
  • Flex work hours to accommodate business needs during high volume times.
  • Build solid working relationships internally and express independent judgment.
  • Serve as a team trainer and SME for first-line team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
  • PHR certification preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and deal with ambiguity in a changing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong customer service skills.
  • Prior experience in human resources with a focus on employee relations.
  • Ability to understand technical requirements and HR systems.
  • Maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality with all materials.
  • Ability to manage people programs such as engagement, communications, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Manage and handle escalations within the People Connect team.
  • Understand and educate on the bigger picture for process and data accuracy.
