About the position

The Associate Application Engineer at The Hanover Insurance Group will leverage technical knowledge and development skills to design and develop efficient application software solutions based on business requirements. This role involves thorough unit testing of new software applications and enhancements to existing applications, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the development process.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy software applications.
• Enhance the end-to-end user experience.
• Contribute to planning and designing project requirements.
• Adhere to quality standards and procedures.
• Collaborate with project team members during the development process.

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in software development.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Eligibility to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to analyze and creatively solve problems.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a multi-priority environment with demanding timelines.
• Capability to execute well-defined project tasks.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and quality.
• Highly motivated, self-learner, and technically inquisitive.
• Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Java development or similar object-oriented language.
• Familiarity with web development using React.
• Basic Cloud knowledge.
• Familiarity with Pega infinity.
