About The Position

The Associate Chemist position at MRIGlobal involves conducting chemical forensics and analysis within the Integrated Defense Solutions Business Unit. The role is focused on applied research and developing solutions to real-world problems, requiring a strong understanding of analytical instrumentation and laboratory practices. The successful candidate will support research and development activities while ensuring compliance with federal programs and safety standards.

Requirements

  • M.S. in Chemistry or related field; B.S. in Chemistry or related field with a minimum of 3 years of related experience, or an appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Excellent legible and logical laboratory records documentation.
  • PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, and Outlook) and ability to learn new software and systems.
  • U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to obtain a Department of Defense Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior industry experience with GC/LC/MS instrumentation including Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS), Liquid Chromatography - High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (LC-HRMS), and Liquid Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry / Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
  • Familiarity with keeping laboratory areas up to date on safety and security requirements.
  • Experience maintaining legible and logical laboratory records documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and/or perform various standard preparation, sample preparation, and sample analysis tasks.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of analytical instrumentation.
  • Develop analytical methods.
  • Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform technical reviews of analytical data and reports.
  • Write or contribute to technical proposals, reports, and/or papers for publication or presentation with clear results and concise conclusions.
  • Interact with clients to provide updates and summaries of testing results.
