About the position

The Associate Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager and Corporate Banking Professionals in managing commercial customer relationships. This position is responsible for a variety of portfolio management activities, including ensuring compliance with covenants, reporting requirements, and maintaining accurate records. The individual will coordinate with relationship managers to collect financial statements and conduct periodic reviews of assigned accounts to ensure risk rating accuracy. In this role, the Associate will act as a liaison between the Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager and Corporate Banking Professionals, facilitating the credit needs of customers through new requests, modifications, or annual reviews and renewals. This includes documenting and tracking relevant information in the Loan Origination System (nCino), completing credit memos with necessary approvals, and participating in the loan closing process. The Associate will also support Corporate Banking Professionals with various portfolio management activities related to credit, depository, or other banking services, including monitoring covenant compliance and performing ongoing credit monitoring activities. Additionally, the Associate will assist with special projects as requested by the Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager, which may involve identifying and providing product solutions and ongoing service for account relationships. Adherence to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with company or regulatory standards and policies is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with portfolio management activities, including reporting requirements and covenant testing.
  • Coordinate with relationship managers in the collection of financial statements and maintenance of records.
  • Complete periodic reviews of assigned accounts to ensure risk rating accuracy.
  • Act as a liaison between Corporate Banking Professionals and Credit Administration to facilitate customer credit needs.
  • Document and track relevant information in Loan Origination System (nCino).
  • Complete credit memos with necessary credit approvals and participate in the loan closing process.
  • Support Corporate Banking Professionals with portfolio management activities related to credit and banking services.
  • Follow up with customers on past due financial statements and monitor covenant compliance.
  • Perform ongoing credit monitoring activities.
  • Assist with special projects as requested by the Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 6 years of experience in credit and/or commercial lending required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; knowledge of commercial lending-related software systems is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, sound judgment, and quality decision-making ability.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
