About The Position

The Associate Developer (Java) position at Expeditors focuses on supporting infrastructure work related to core business applications in the Operational Accounting sector. This role involves third-party integration, VM provisioning, application security, deployment pipelines, and containerization, all aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the company's logistics operations. The position requires collaboration with development teams to meet customer and organizational business requirements.

Requirements

  • Proficient in at least one Unix scripting language such as Bash or Python.
  • Experience using Java.
  • Ability to write SQL statements for relational databases.
  • Desire to work in an Agile environment.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and team-focused attitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Spring Core and familiarity with other Spring modules.
  • Familiarity integrating applications with Vault.
  • 1-3 years of employment experience as part of a development team.
  • Proficient in Core and Advanced Java (Java 8+).
  • Familiarity with advanced Java topics such as web services and database connectivity.
  • Understanding of Azure CI/CD framework.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with tools including Terraform, Docker, Vault, GitLab.
  • Understanding of the transportation/global logistics industry.

Responsibilities

  • Support infrastructure work such as third-party integration and provisioning VMs.
  • Bolster application security and create/maintain deployment pipelines.
  • Assist in containerization efforts for core business systems.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure systems meet business requirements.
