About the position

The Associate Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations at Drexel University plays a crucial role in advancing fundraising efforts for the College of Computing and Engineering. This position involves leading the implementation of strategies to secure private gifts and grants, developing innovative proposals, and fostering relationships with foundations and corporate partners. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders within the university to enhance philanthropic engagement and support the institution's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and implement strategies to secure foundation and corporate funds for Computing & Engineering.
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with foundations and corporate partners.
  • Provide high-level customer service to the Dean, Associate Deans, faculty, and staff, understanding funding priorities and research areas.
  • Write, edit, and assemble letters of inquiry, proposals, stewardship reports, and thank you letters for corporations and foundations.
  • Collaborate with lead development officers to develop strategies towards annual and campaign goals.
  • Make direct contact with grantors to gather information and provide assistance to increase investment likelihood.
  • Collaborate with college/school grant administrators to ensure adherence to grant submission processes.
  • Participate in internal education activities to inform constituents about FCR responsibilities and procedures.
  • Research and review corporate and foundation prospects to develop significant funding proposals.
  • Document reports of contacts and maintain a robust proposal pipeline.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of full-time grant-writing and editing experience within a non-profit setting.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of complex proposals within tight deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in higher education and non-profit fund development.
  • Knowledge of proposal development and corporate and foundation fundraising.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Experience with database fundraising software programs.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
