About the position

Vaxcyte is a clinical-stage vaccine innovation company engineering high-fidelity vaccines to protect humankind from the consequences of bacterial diseases. The Associate Director IT Finance Systems is a key leadership role responsible for the successful delivery and management of Vaxcyte's Finance systems projects and programs. This individual will support the Finance team with the implementation of our SAP ERP system and other financial systems. This position requires expertise in SAP, various finance systems, and project management. This role will be a hands-on technical role and will provide team leadership for IT finance systems, ensuring that business goals and objectives are met efficiently and effectively. This is a collaborative role working closely with the Finance team to deliver systems that will support Vaxcyte's growth through commercialization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, develop and manage the IT finance systems team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage the IT finance systems roadmap and budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide IT leadership for finance portions of our SAP implementation ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and strategic goals.
  • Plan and lead other IT finance system upgrades, enhancements and new system implementations.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation, and ensure timely execution and delivery of finance systems.
  • Monitor system and project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing best practices in SAP and other finance systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., SAP certification) is desired.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience supporting finance, with multiple SAP and other finance systems (e.g Concur and ADP) implementations.
  • Extensive knowledge of finance business processes (GL/AP/AR/Procurement).
  • Public company experience with extensive background with SOX regulatory controls.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with stakeholders to understand their requirements, manage expectations, and provide regular project updates.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP systems, including SAP S/4HANA FICO and Ariba source to settle experience.
  • Proven experience in successfully managing finance projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Experience implementing complex finance system integrations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience with biotech/pharma companies both pre and post commercialization is strongly desired.
