About the position

The Associate Director, Lead Full Stack Developer at RBC Capital Markets is responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining the PRISM trading system, focusing on low latency and high performance. This role involves collaboration with traders and quantitative researchers to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and maintainability, while also leading discussions on product design and architecture. The position emphasizes continuous improvement in software development processes and code quality, and requires strong technical leadership in a dynamic trading environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain the PRISM trading system in C++, Python, and various databases.
• Oversee cross-regions market data sourcing, parsing, and control for real-time trading.
• Automate trading and support functionalities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as traders and quantitative researchers.
• Lead discussions on the design and architecture of next-generation products and systems.
• Resolve production issues proactively to enhance product quality.
• Focus on continuous improvement of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) processes.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 1 year of work experience in C++, Python, MySQL, and SQL Server.
• Experience with Boost Library, ZeroC ICE Library, and Linux.
• Knowledge of equity and equity derivatives market data technology through Reuters and Exegy.
• Experience with option market data technology through OPRA direct feed.
• Familiarity with market microstructure research and back testing tools in C++ and Python.
• Experience with low-latency market data for equity and equity derivatives.
