About The Position

The Associate Electrical Engineer will be responsible for various manufacturing engineering activities, focusing on corrective and preventative actions related to manufacturing non-conformances. This role involves documentation, cost reduction, and collaboration with engineering, quality, product management, and service teams. The engineer will support a LEAN culture, investigate manufacturing issues, and ensure compliance with quality standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a discreet manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive hands-on experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems and electronic instruments.
  • Experience in technical writing or writing quality procedures or assembly instructions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to gain trust and respect of team members.
  • Advanced computer skills including Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, CAD systems, and SAP.
  • Ability to read and generate schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with test equipment for troubleshooting and validation, such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and Lean Manufacturing.

  • Experience in biotechnology lab settings.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing engineering activities related to non-conformances and issues.
  • Documentation and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Interface with engineering, quality, product management, and service teams.
  • Support LEAN culture focusing on standardization and improved performance.
  • Investigate and solve manufacturing issues related to biological detection products.
  • Implement corrective and preventative actions for manufacturing issues.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing job test procedures and work instructions.
  • Design manufacturing fixtures and prototypes as required.
  • Develop process and test protocols for automated equipment and manual processes.
  • Establish and maintain routings and control BOM changes.
  • Maintain master material data for all manufactured products.
  • Drive cost reduction projects for Value Engineering initiatives.
  • Perform validation testing on new products and changes to existing products.
  • Liaison with Development and Engineering teams on new products and engineering issues.
  • Ensure engineering changes are validated and implemented in manufacturing.
  • Lead continuous improvement of cell culture-based production of biosensors.
  • Develop and implement quality standards and perform QC tests for biosensors.
  • Conduct reagent stability studies and validations.
  • Lead material requirements planning and inventory management for biosensor parts.
  • Drive cell banking production process for biosensor cell lines.
  • Maintain site equipment certifications and preventative maintenance.
  • Develop and implement cGMP practices in biotechnology lab settings.
