About the position

The Associate Asset Protection Manager at Saks Fifth Avenue is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the overall inventory shortage performance and executing the Asset Protection Strategy within the store. Reporting directly to the Store Asset Protection Manager, this position requires a strong commitment to adhering to company policies as well as local, provincial, and federal laws during internal and external theft investigations. The Associate Asset Protection Manager will work closely with various groups within the store, including customers and associates, to ensure that all objectives related to asset protection are clearly communicated and effectively executed. In this role, the Associate Asset Protection Manager will monitor reports and audits on a daily and monthly basis to ensure the integrity of physical inventory. They will also develop internal investigations in collaboration with Asset Protection Investigators. A key aspect of the position involves consistent communication with Store Leadership, Managers, and Associates to raise awareness about inventory shortage results, concerns, and strategy initiatives. The Associate Asset Protection Manager will also play a significant role in the hiring, development, performance management, and potential separation of Asset Protection Investigators, making termination recommendations to senior leaders based on the outcomes of related investigations. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure the integrity of physical inventory by monitoring reports and audits on a daily/monthly basis.
  • Develop internal investigations with the Asset Protection Investigators.
  • Communicate consistently with Store Leadership, Managers, and Associates regarding inventory shortage results and concerns.
  • Hire, develop, performance manage, and separate Asset Protection Investigators as applicable, in partnership with the Asset Protection team and store senior leadership.
  • Provide final insight on audit execution and internal audit readiness.
  • Work with sales support to ensure shortage control processes are followed.
  • Perform ad hoc responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency required; college degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of retail Asset Protection experience, preferably in a luxury retail environment.
  • Strong aptitude and knowledge of retail security systems and information systems.
  • Proven track record of identifying shortage exposures and developing creative strategies to address them.
  • Wicklander-Zulawski Certification is ideal.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and technology.
