The Associate Manager, Process Engineering is responsible for leading process optimization and engineering initiatives at the Waxdale facility. This role focuses on enhancing production efficiency, reducing process variability, and driving continuous improvement to support SCJ business goals. The Process Engineering Associate Manager will collaborate closely with the Lean Manufacturing Associate Manager and local management teams to ensure seamless integration of lean methodologies and process enhancements.

  • Lead process engineering projects to improve production efficiency and reduce process variability
  • May lead lean and process engineering team members in support of these projects
  • Learn how to develop the sustainable transformation or continuous improvement strategy for the site and specific assigned areas
  • Advocate for and lead process optimization and engineering best practices across the facility
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address process-related issues
  • Conduct plant diagnostics and quantify opportunities for process enhancements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements
  • Implement technical improvements and support management infrastructure development across Operations Systems (e.g. technical improvements), Management Infrastructure (e.g. key performance indicator development), and Mindsets, Behaviors, and Capabilities (e.g. culture change)
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the team
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or military experience considered in lieu of education requirement
  • 5+ years of relevant experience such as leading process optimization and/or TPM implementation
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Drive Innovation: Actively pursue and influence process improvements to deliver impactful results
  • Analyze and Solve Problems: Skillfully analyze processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop creative solutions to complex engineering challenges
  • Apply Process Engineering Principles: Utilize process engineering methodologies, including process design, optimization, and control, to enhance operations
  • Utilize Improvement Tools: Employ tools and techniques such as Six Sigma, process mapping, statistical process control (SPC), and root cause analysis to improve processes
  • Achieve Certification: Obtain and maintain Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification to demonstrate proficiency in process improvement and quality management
  • Lead and Manage Teams: Effectively lead, communicate with, and manage teams to drive and sustain process improvements
  • Adapt to New Environments: Quickly integrate into new working environments and leverage support to become a valuable resource at each site
  • Optimize Processes: Proactively optimize processes to reduce waste and improve overall efficiency and quality
  • Influence and Implement Change: Engage with and influence management and production employees to recognize the need for process improvements, act as change agents, and implement changes effectively
