About the position

The position involves participating in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) team and completing assignments in a timely and accurate manner. The role focuses on implementing continuous improvement activities that drive waste and cost reduction from manufacturing processes. The candidate will be responsible for implementing tools and techniques that mistake-proof operations and increase the quality output of the process. Additionally, the role includes analyzing hourly job duties for ergonomic issues to minimize manual material handling and repetitive motions, supporting the implementation of cost estimates, and conducting problem-solving through Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma techniques. The candidate will also conduct time studies, maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routers, and write technical work instructions for complex processes. Participation in Kaizen teams and networking with others in the field to expand expertise is also expected.

Responsibilities

  • Participate on the APQP team and complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Implement continuous improvement activities that drive waste and cost from manufacturing processes.
  • Implement tools and techniques that mistake-proof operations and increase the quality output of the process.
  • Suggest and implement new and advanced processes/equipment to increase safety.
  • Analyze hourly job duties for ergonomic issues and minimize manual material handling and repetitive motions.
  • Support the implementation of cost estimates for time and cost.
  • Conduct problem solving and documentation through Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma techniques.
  • Conduct time studies and keep BOMs and routers accurate and up to date.
  • Write and implement technical work instructions for complex processes/parts.
  • Support the development of timely cost estimates for new business opportunities as needed.
  • Participate on Kaizen teams as required.
  • Provide error-free work to all internal and external customers related to the output of the position.
  • Expand expertise by networking with others in the field and continue learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of applicable work experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and effectively with various members of the organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to speak, write, and comprehend conversational English.
