About the position

The Associate Project Manager (APM) / Project Manager (PM) position at PSEG is responsible for the full life-cycle management of multi-discipline capital projects within the Electric T&D - Projects & Construction line of business. This role involves overseeing projects of low to mid-level complexity, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards while adhering to company policies and regulations. The APM/PM will coordinate with various functional groups to support safe project execution and maintain high service reliability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse range of major transmission, substation, control and protection, interconnection, distribution, and generation capital projects.
  • Identify required resources, assemble core project teams, and manage cross-functional matrixed teams.
  • Ensure all aspects of assigned projects are managed and integrated in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Lead the preparation of project execution plans to define overall project objectives based on approved budgets.
  • Develop key milestone and detailed project schedules identifying project tasks and their interdependencies.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in all required storm restoration activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field with 6 years of engineering, capital construction, project management, or technical supervisory experience.
  • In-depth knowledge and relevant experience in project management, engineering, construction methods, budgeting, cost control, planning, scheduling, and estimating.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of substation and/or transmission and distribution design and engineering processes.
  • Demonstrated project leadership and ability to lead complex projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4 years of Inside Plant, Overhead and/or underground outside plant distribution, Transmission project experience.
  • Experience in Project Management and managing capital projects.
  • Knowledge of Electrical construction, operations, equipment, and materials.
  • Advanced computer application knowledge, i.e., P6, MS Project, Access or other scheduling software.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
