The Burns & Wilcox Environmental Center of Excellence (COE) is seeking an Associate Underwriter who is eager to expand their knowledge in the insurance industry. This position is available in multiple locations including Denver, CO, Farmington Hills, MI, and Tampa, FL. The Environmental COE specializes in understanding environmental exposures and their potential impact on clients' businesses. As an Associate Underwriter, you will be responsible for building relationships with agents, identifying sources of business, and creatively placing risks and product opportunities. You will seek opportunities to access new insurance markets and products, playing a producer role in the dynamic growth of a highly successful and consistently profitable company. Utilizing cutting-edge technology, you will deliver high-quality service to agents and agencies while partnering with a service-oriented corporate headquarters staff. In this role, you will define and monitor successful sales and marketing strategies in cooperation with senior management. Being technologically savvy and data-driven is essential, as you will develop these capabilities within the branch office team. You will supervise the execution of company underwriting guidelines, corporate policies, and compliance with contract terms, while managing relationships with retail agents and branch underwriter/broker producers. Your goal will be to drive consistency and quality in operational processes, cultivate brokerage markets, and creatively develop solutions for individual risk placements as well as program business development.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the insurance industry
  • Insurance license preferred
