About the position

The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Sales, Group Medicare and Specialty Marketing and Enablement is a pivotal role within Humana, focusing on the planning and execution of marketing campaigns aimed at generating new prospects and enhancing client retention. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of how organizational capabilities interrelate across various segments and the enterprise as a whole. In this critical role, the AVP will lead the marketing strategy for Group Medicare Advantage and Individual and Group Specialty health care plans. They will be responsible for delivering industry-leading sales marketing and enablement capabilities for a vast network of agents and brokers selling Humana's diverse range of insurance plans, including the robust Medicare Advantage portfolio. The incumbent will leverage their business acumen and leadership skills to shape a strategic marketing approach that is both visionary and detail-oriented. A deep understanding of the agent and consumer decision journey for healthcare plan selection and member engagement will be essential to develop innovative marketing strategies that enable Humana to excel in the marketplace. The AVP will oversee a team of over 30 full-time employees and manage a significant budget. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Insurance Services Marketing, this role will involve extensive collaboration with cross-functional marketing teams, the sales organization, market leaders, and multiple line of business leaders to drive member growth, engagement, retention, and agent/broker satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, results-oriented marketing professional with exceptional leadership, team-building, collaboration, and partnership management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Sales Enablement and Engagement, Group Medicare and Group Specialty and Individual Specialty marketing teams.
  • Manage relationships with executive leaders to understand business segment dynamics, performance goals, and objectives.
  • Deliver effective, measurable, omni-channel B2B/B2C acquisition and engagement marketing campaigns.
  • Drive thought leadership for advancing B2B marketing, including audience identification and innovation in content, email, online, and social marketing.
  • Develop and execute robust test and learn strategies for B2C marketing, optimizing various channels.
  • Create industry-leading sales education and materials for agents/brokers to enhance their knowledge of Humana's offerings.
  • Drive capability advancement and a multi-year roadmap for digital-first marketing and sales enablement.
  • Track marketing performance and report on efficiency and ROI, partnering with Marketing Data and Analytics.
  • Identify actionable insights on key segments, customers, and competitive positioning.
  • Work with marketing partners and agencies to ensure consistency and adherence to brand standards.
  • Demonstrate strong people management skills to create high-performing teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree in business highly desirable.
  • 8+ years of B2B sales and marketing experience; B2C marketing experience preferred.
  • 15+ years of increasing responsibility in a large brand environment.
  • Proven track record of developing marketing strategies and executing them flawlessly.
  • Extensive knowledge of B2B marketing and sales techniques, with experience in CRM platforms a plus.
  • Strong presence and collaborative style with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Outstanding presentation skills and authentic communication style.
