About The Position

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Nursing by managing and directing resident care within the nursing department. This position is focused on maintaining high standards of care for residents and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The ADON is responsible for coordinating care, evaluating nursing personnel, and ensuring the availability of necessary supplies and equipment.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse with the State Board of Nursing.
• CPR certification recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the coordination of resident care through departmental and appropriate staff committee meetings.
• Ensures that staffing is adequate to meet State and Federal requirements.
• Guides the nursing department in adherence to all state and federal regulations.
• Evaluates nursing personnel and effectively recommends disciplinary action according to HCF policy.
• Completes duties of Infection Control Nurse (PA).
• Ensures availability of nursing supplies and equipment.
• Assumes responsibility for maintaining professional competence.
• Evaluates overall delivery of resident care.
