Our strategically growing law firm is seeking an attorney to join our team, focusing on executive compensation and benefits. In this role, you will serve the needs of clients across the country, providing legal assistance in a variety of employment-related matters. You will work alongside a team of expert attorneys, bringing creative solutions to both the firm and our clients. This position offers the unique opportunity to access the resources of a large firm while providing customized and multidimensional guidance to address our clients' most complex and pressing needs. We are looking for exceptional communicators with excellent writing skills who enjoy collaborating with both internal and external clients. The ideal candidate will possess intellectual curiosity and a strong desire to problem-solve across a wide array of employee benefits and employment-related matters, including ERISA compliance, nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements, and general employee benefit programs. A strong work ethic and an action-oriented approach to taking on increased levels of responsibility are essential. As a collaborative team player, you will be accessible and client-centric, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service. To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of two years of relevant experience in executive compensation and employee benefits law, specifically related to deferred compensation and equity incentive programs. Applicants must currently be licensed, or currently eligible to become licensed, to practice law in Nebraska. Excellent academic and professional credentials are required, along with experience advising clients on employee benefit issues, including ERISA compliance and executive compensation, non-qualified deferred compensation (409A and 457), and equity plans such as stock option plans and alternative equity ownership plans.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the practice of law related to executive compensation and employee benefits.
  • Provide legal guidance on ERISA compliance and employee benefit programs.
  • Advise clients on nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements and equity incentive programs.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys to develop creative solutions for clients' needs.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external clients regarding complex legal matters.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years relevant experience in executive compensation and employee benefits law.
  • Currently licensed or eligible to become licensed to practice law in Nebraska.
  • Excellent academic and professional credentials.
  • Experience advising clients on employee benefit issues, including ERISA compliance and executive compensation.
