About the position

The Attorney (Regulatory Legal) position at IBM Corporation in Armonk, NY, involves supporting the Strategic Transaction Center of Excellence (CoE) by addressing privacy, security, AI, and data issues in strategic transactions. Additionally, the role requires monitoring new privacy laws and implementing necessary updates to contractual templates.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate, guide, and support the company's US-based Procurement organization and Privacy office on Procurement transactions.
• Work with the Security office on Procurement, Sales, and M&A transactions.
• Negotiate with suppliers, M&A targets, and clients to address privacy and other in-scope issues.
• Analyze contractual relationships with suppliers.
• Leverage global expertise in privacy, security, AI, and data matters, focusing on privacy issues in Procurement, including GDPR compliance.
• Analyze new privacy laws and regulations and implement updates to contractual templates as required.
• Monitor laws governing damages a company may claim against suppliers for breach of privacy and security terms.
• Evaluate incidents involving the company and third parties for lessons applicable to privacy and security practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent in Law or related field.
• Three (3) years of experience as an Attorney or related role.
• Experience must include utilizing General Contract Law (including M&A), global data protection laws, and data governance.
