About the position
The Mental Health Advocacy Service has a vacancy for a supervisory position responsible for overseeing attorneys who represent mental health clients and child welfare clients. This role includes supervising support staff, students, and others as needed, managing case load distribution, coordinating with other professionals, implementing agency policies, and training staff. The position also involves handling a personal case load and representing the agency and the interests of clients on boards, committees, and with various policy advocacy organizations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise attorneys representing mental health and child welfare clients.
- Supervise support staff, students, and others as needed.
- Manage case load distribution.
- Coordinate with other professionals.

- Represent the agency and clients on boards and committees.
Requirements
- Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice law.
- Four years of experience as a practicing attorney.
- Valid driver's license for necessary travel.
- Valid bar license.

- Experience working with persons with mental illness and/or disabilities.
