About the position

The Audiologist position at the San Diego County Office of Education involves serving as an educational audiologist for the North County Consortium for Special Education (NCCSE). The role includes conducting hearing evaluations, performing assessments for Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD), and providing support to students with hearing impairments. The Audiologist will work with a diverse range of students from infancy to young adulthood, ensuring they receive appropriate auditory support and accommodations in educational settings.

Responsibilities

  • Complete hearing evaluations and related reports.
  • Perform Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) assessments and provide related accommodations for instruction.
  • Assist students with hearing impairments in using amplification devices and developing auditory skills.
  • Consult with staff regarding auditory skills, issues, and instructional accommodations and methods.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Audiology or a closely related subject.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team conducting assessments and interpreting audiological evaluations.
  • Experience writing intervention plans and providing consultation to families and staff.
  • Valid California Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential with an authorization in Audiology or equivalent document.
  • Valid California Driver's License.
