Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• Audit experience in public accounting or internal audit.
• CPA license required.
• Demonstrated technical abilities in audit, accounting, regulatory, compliance, etc.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, time management, research, and communications skills.
• Must be able to work effectively with new and changing situations including new industry regulations.
• Ability to present concisely and descriptively in both verbal and written format to all levels of management.
• Ability to analyze complex processes and to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of the process and related controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee audit staff during audits and control consulting engagements.
• Oversee audit planning, field work, and audit reporting.
• Prepare reports and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
• Review audit work papers prepared by the audit staff to ensure sound audit theory and compliance with the department's methodology.
• Assess complex financial, operational, and compliance processes and assess risks.
• Apply key control concepts in a wide variety of business settings.
• Establish or tailor review programs and testing procedures to ensure they are appropriate for the processes being reviewed.
• Ensure that all work papers supporting the review are clear and concise.
• Present findings and recommendations to all levels of management.
• Assist in managing budgeted hours.
